The good ol' days didn't really have as many cleaners or cleaning agents on the super market shelves as we do today, therefore I don't use more than three different products. Here are some of my tips:
- Vinegar and baking soda
Directions: Mist item with vinegar in a spray bottle then sprinkle on baking soda and mist vinegar again. You'll hear and see a "fizz". Let set for minimum of 30 minutes or over night. Scrub with a scouring pad or stiff bristle brush and use plenty of elbow grease.
Uses: Toilets, Sinks (porcelain or stainless steel), Bathtubs, Stove and Oven Grates, Bar-B-Q Grates, Pots and Pans.
- Sprayway Glass Cleaner (since 1947)
Directions: On back of can.
Uses: Obviously GREAT on Glass and also Mirrors, Stainless Steel Appliances, Trash Cans and Chrome Light Fixtures.
- Next to Godliness Multi-Purpose Cleaner (Find it at "Trader Joe's")
Directions: On bottle but it's multi-purpose which is pretty self explanatory too.
Uses: Sinks, Counter tops, Porcelain, Mirrors (use cotton cloth; may streak with microfiber cloth), Stainless Steel, Tile (Great for mopping! Use "stream" setting and spray directly onto flooring: laminate, tile, fabricated wood), Virtually any surface.
For conditioning wood surfaces, no need to buy anything other than Olive Oil.
I never realized that you could use these household ingredients to clean! That is such fantastic news. We've been considering getting house cleaning services to get the soap scum cleaned out of our shower.

ReplyDeleteYeah I also use these household ingredients for house cleaning, because they are natural and don’t harm us in any way. Nowadays there are so many natural house cleaning products available in market in very cheap prices. I have also used some of them. These are great and effective!!
