Don't you know you NEVER lay a hand on any woman but especially the woman that cooks for you & cleans your home. Don't forget she can poison you & you'll never know it till it's to late.
Probably right. Next to,she is in a kitchen with knives.. you dumb man.. and she feeds you , you ignorant fool, and sleep with one eye open you abusive ass..im pretty. Sure you are,single.. or 10feet under., cause even back then, there were, ways to end you. At least i would of.
Hey andrew.. RIGHT NEXT TO RAT POISON AND DIVORCE LAWYERS..OH AN LET ME NOT FORGET, THE NUMBER TO COUNTY JAIL.. HAHA YOUR AN IDIOT. YOULL NEVER GET OUT ALIVE WITH THAT KIND OF THINKING..
Not every women who follows the most basic rules are beaten and battered women. Some of us believe in this way of life and become home makers because we want to. I chose to live my life by these rules and commandments's because it's what I enjoy doing. I love to bake, care for my children, and my home. Isuring my family is happy and healthy. I tried working once my children were in school and it wasn't for me. I now just work for my family and couldnt be happier. My husband works hard to support us and when he comes home the least I could do is make sure hee is comfy and feels care for. If you don't agree than its fine but be a lady about it.
Follow* Commandments*,insuring*,he*,cared*.These are the mistakes in your comment. A modern 1950s wife(though that term does not make sense) has meticulous grammar and spelling . And I am so glad for you that you had the courage to decide that the houswife's life is the one for you.You are correct; marrying your way to get your needs covered is much better than covering them for yourself. It must be very dignified for you to ask your husband for money every month/week depending on the needs. I ask you this; have you thought what might happen to your family if your husband-the sole provider of the family- were fired or unable to work again? Who would bring food to the table and clothes on your backs? If you were a working mom your family would be more cared and provided for since there is an extra cashflow into the familie's budget ensuring a better life for you and your family not to mention the fact that your job could be something that the family could economically lean on , times are hard and jobs are becoming less stable by the second.
I don't agree with a 50's style housewife life but I don't agree with this comment either. Neither housewives nor working wives should be mocked for their choice of family life. " marrying your way to get your needs covered" is an assumption, people marry for love and make decisions to raise their children with a parent in the home because they want that. Extra cashflow does not ensure a better quality life and two parents working does not ensure more stability or security. I understand why this blog is offensive to many people. It doesn't sit quite right with me either but I find the rude and quippy comments on here equally offensive. Why not use the comment section to ask real questions instead of trying to make someone feel bad for their way of life? I just don't understand why people take such pleasure in being cruel and negative. If you want to change the bloggers views because you are concerned or you feel passionate about spreading a more feminist view, recommend some good role models or a book or movie that is inspiring. Anyway I could write quite a bit more but the general point I'm trying to get to is try putting yourself in someone elses place before you comment. Oh and I apologise because I know I don't have perfect grammar.
I have never read so many outrageous and angry replies. Women who work outside the home still have all the same home chores they did before they followed a "career"
very few have ideal fulfilling jobs. If someone loves being a 1950's style homemaker, her preference should be respected as much as a woman who chooses a career in the corporate world. We are not all the same but do deserve respect for our choices
I just don't understand one thing : the quiet home rule when you said to turn off the tv so he'll know you've been working and not watching tv. Did he get a wife or a maid? You finished your chores and you watched tv it is not a crime.
Contrary to what some comments are saying, I agree with most of the rules. I was studying and i had a maid until 2 weeks ago and since then I decided to try the housewife thing for some time. Results are amazing. I discovered its not as hard as I thought. And my husband really, really appreciates the effort im putting. I also think its good practice at time management when Im finally ready to go to work (when my toddler is in preschool). Family is my priority and this is how I choose to practice it.
Back then most women made good wives which most women and men were very committed to one another, and today with so many very high maintenance women around it makes it very hard for us good men meeting a good one today which most of them are taken now.
I love this. It makes for some great ideas and organisation for the home. I know that my home will run smoothly with this guidance. I love when my home is tidy and I love making it a haven for my family
Women can be women if they choose to. There is nothing wrong with a woman choosing to be a housewife and raise respectful God loving moral children while loving her husband as he loves her.
All these atrocious comments here, how disgusting. This blog is wonderful, times may have changed but the woman should shouldn't go full modern. Never go full modern. All the nasty people hating on women who are housewives and mothers, feminism is cancer.
Were does it say wen to beat her ass wen she fail all rules and she has been told more than twice anbout these rules...hmmmm.. ?

ReplyDeletePlease, please, please read or even look up "the feminine mystic."
ReplyDeleteIt's "The Feminine Mystique," by Betty Friedan. Not "The Feminine Mystic." That sounds like a wiccan book!
